Your Parents Are Growing Old Silently – And they Won’t Be Here Forever
Your father’s walk is slower now. Did you notice? Your mother forgets things she never used to forget. Her hands tremble when she pours tea. She repeats stories you’ve heard before. She asks the same question three times. You get annoyed. You roll your eyes. You say “I told you already.” And in that moment, you forget: she answered your same question 100 times when you were a child. She never got annoyed. She never said “uff.” The Prophet ﷺ said in authenticated hadith: “Paradise lies under the feet of your mother.” Not “was.” Not “used to be.” It’s still there. Right now. Under her feet. But those feet are getting tired. She won’t be here forever.
